I must admit, it took me a little while to get around to it, but here it is, finally, the Gothic Chess Blog. Many of the (former) discussion board posters grew tired of the "spammers" posting endlessly on there. Even while the discussion board was "under lockdown", some of them had "sleeper" accounts that they reactivated to continue posting the ridiculous ads to sites I would not visit even with rubber gloves on...
Anyway, today starts a new day, so blog away!
I will integrate the blog link to the GothicChess.com main site some time today, making it easier to access.
Feel free to post any "non-spam" material that is relevant to Gothic Chess, and I'll do my best to comment (where required) or otherwise offer any insights.
Enjoy!

So what's all this? The old discussion board is like down? Or what? I still see it linked to the main site at GC.com so I'm confused.
The old board was fillng up with spam so I invited only the most frequent posters of the old board to become blog authors on this board.
Hopefully this blog will get good - I never actually looked at the gothic chess forums (nor have I finished the gothic chess network game, but it will be finished eventually! lol)
Hi Ed thanks for the invitation! We played at the pub in London a few years back, remember me?
So Mike, how far along is your Gothic Chess networkable game? Do you have a beta version for release any time soon?
Keep us posted!
Hi Alton,
I seem to recall you got me in a fair amount of trouble in the first game before my Archbishop got loose! You played a mean game, not bad at all for your first one. So how are things now that you are back in the states?
So when will the other board be taken down or are you going to leave it up?
I'll get working on the game again today - its almost finished (just check/checkmate and promoting pieces to go)
I looked at the other discussion area too I like this one much better.
I was "crazyarchbishop" on the old discussion board thanks for the invitation happy to be back.
So what's the answer to the best move post carta?
Gotta be Na4 but dueling he ain't readin this area for the best move replies.
Sorry I have been real busy, Mondays are always bad for me. The old discussion board will eventually be taken down. It is still up, just off in never-never-land for the time being.
I see our new webmaster already tied this blog into the GothicChess.com site, which I asked him to do on Wednesday of this week, not today, but that's OK, he is 2 days ahead of schedule.
Well, finally I have been convinced to start an own blog myself in German language on SMIRFs redevelopment as OCTOPUS, though it probably will be far less frequented and have not at all that much details especially for Gothic Chess. If interested have a look at: German SMIRF Log.
